Thank you, dearest reader, for being part of the Mendocino Healing community!
I value and appreciate you!

Today I would like to share some exciting news with you and tell you a little more about my yoga journey.

Let’s start with the amazing news: I am so happy to announce that I am featured Yoga Teacher of the Month for June in Yoga Magazine! 🙂

It’s been an exhilarating time to put together the poses, sequence, instructions, and photos. My gratitude goes out to the admirable people at Yoga Magazine, to my husband Doug for his love and support, to Denise De Luise for the beautiful photos, to all of my fabulous yoga students, wellness clients, friends, and of course to you, dearest reader!
Over the years you have provided me with insights, ideas, and inspirations! You are true teachers and I feel so honored and grateful to be a part of your journey! It is a blessing to know you and to observe your transformations, discoveries, and breakthroughs! ?

Please also check out the instructions for three yoga poses that are part of the “Empower Yourself” yoga sequence. I created this sequence to help you release what’s holding you back and to support you on finding your true path.

I feel truly blessed to be featured in an international yoga magazine! It allows me to share the gift of yoga on a larger scale and I hope that it may inspire others to experience the magic of yoga practice for themselves.

Please share the online article on your social media, with your friends and spread the word! If you are interested, you can also order a hard copy of the magazine online or through me. 🙂

Now allow me to tell you a little more about how I discovered yoga and how it has changed my life.

Today yoga is being offered in schools and yoga studios are popping up everywhere.
When I was growing up, I had never heard of yoga before. When I was around 19, I joined a local fitness studio in Frankfurt, and noticed that they offered yoga classes. It immediately drew my attention and I signed up for the next one available. Thinking that yoga may just be very gentle stretching, I worked out before class, and was surprised that this yoga class was way more vigorous than expected. When everybody stared jumping into handstands I lost it and was ready to leave class. Being polite, I stayed until the end of class. After this experience it me a while before I tried yoga again. It wasn’t until many years later that I found a wonderful yoga studio in Sebastopol, California, and I got hooked. So why am I telling you all this? Because I encourage you to find YOUR perfect yoga practice.
It is important to find a yoga instructor that you resonate with, a yoga style that you feel aligned with a studio that can be your sanctuary.
There are so many different yoga styles, and there may just be the perfect yoga practice for you.

Yoga practice soon began to inspire, energize, relax and strengthen me physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Yoga supported me in bringing my awareness deeper within myself, helping me to understand and accept who I truly was. As with most things, this was a gradual process. Every time I practiced, I sensed an inner peace, strength and harmony that soon made my yoga classes a priority on my schedule.

Moving away from “my” studio caused me to pause yoga for years. Busy life didn’t seem to allow time to search for another studio to practice.
When I left my corporate career and moved to Hong Kong I knew it was the beginning of my true calling. I checked out many different studios and teachers until I found the perfect studio and teacher for me. Over the years my practice helped to transform my life.

While studying Aromatherapy, Reiki, Reconnective Healing,Kinesiology, Meditation, and Massage, Yoga continued to be my anchor. My practice calmed my mind when I was studying hard for the Aromatherapy exams. In combination with the other healing modalities it helped me to cultivate a deeper awareness. Studying the spiritual and physical aspects of yoga helped me to integrate the profound teachings. My regular practice further supported me in releasing stored emotional stress from my body and mind. At the same time I could feel my true essence shining through more and more. It has allowed me to listen to my heart and intuition, and guided me to live the life of my dreams. To share my love for yoga and all its benefits with others, I took my Yoga Teacher Training in California, in May 2011.

Yoga to me is a devotional, spiritual, mental, emotional and physical practice that teaches us about how to live a life filled with love, compassion, harmony and bliss on and off the mat. Combined with other holistic modalities, laughter, happiness, and a good diet, yoga will certainly transform and empower your life. It certainly has transformed mine and I am forever grateful for this ancient and transformational practice.

It is my honor to share the gift of yoga and wellness with you!

Have you done yoga before? If you have practiced before, what has it been like for you? If you haven’t, do you have any questions? I would love to hear from you!
Also, please share this article with your like-minded friends and encourage them to give yoga a try.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Many blessings from my heart to yours,

Tanja
