SkyNewYearNewYouWishing you a very happy, healthy and joyful New Year 2015!

As we leave the holiday season behind and find ourselves in the first few days of the new year, we feel the urge to change. Media suggests to us to loose weight, change the diet, go on a cleanse, change our hairstyle, clothing, etc.

Yet instead of looking outside for solutions on how to best start the new year, it serves us better to look inside and check in with ourselves on what is best for us. We can do this by connecting with our heart and soul and ask ourselves these questions: What makes me happy? What lifestyle keeps me healthy? What are my dreams and desires for the new year?

The answers may come promptly or take their time. Once we have received some insights we can gratefully add them to our list of intentions for the new year. It is important to allow ourselves to take baby steps, if that is what it takes, and allow ourselves to make mistakes along the way as well as to celebrate both our breakthroughs and our set-backs. Set-backs are there for us to learn, grow and become stronger so we can eventually turn them around into breakthroughs.

There is no need to feel any kind of pressure to reinvent yourself. What is crucial, however, is to be YOU and fully embrace your authentic self. Be kind and patient with yourself, make sure to take good care of yourself and invest in your health, happiness and wellbeing as you walk along your inspired path in 2015.

Here are two suggestions for your consideration to add to your daily routine to promote health, happiness and wellbeing.

1. Start your day, before you get out of bed in the morning, with gratitude. Take a moment to appreciate who you are and where you are in your life in this moment. As you go through your day you may notice many moments that you cherish and you may just like to say “thank you”. The more aware you become of gratitude and appreciation the more you attract these wonderful qualities into your life.

2. An Ayurvedic ritual to boost your health and detoxification during the holiday season (and all year around) is to drink a glass of warm water with fresh lemon juice (and maybe some raw honey) in the morning. Lemon added to water becomes alkaline and most of us can definitely use more alkalizing food in our diets. Enjoy and allow about 10 minutes for your body to absorb the juice before you have your breakfast.
