Autumn Aromatherapy ~ A Guide to Making Your Home Smell and Feel like Fall

The leaves change colors, and the crisp morning air indicates the arrival of fall.

As the days get shorter and the nights longer, nature asks us to slow down, and to go within. It’s the time get cozy at home and to snuggle up in your favorite blanket to the fragrance of grounding, woodsy essential oils.

Here’s how to make your home smell and feel like fall with Aromatherapy.

Essential oils are the highly concentrated essences of plant extracts.

So in addition to getting your aromatherapy diffuser and essential oil bottles out, I invite you to make your own decorative plant bundle.

On your next walk see if you can collect a few pine needle and bay leave branches, some pine cones, nuts, sprigs of rosemary, berries, and sage.

At home arrange your crop in a bundle or place everything in a decorative bowl.

This natural fall bouquet makes a beautiful and fragrant decoration for your dining room table.

In addition, you can enhance the scent of fall by diffusing some earthy essential oils in your home.

Place a few drops of one, or a combination of below essential oils in your aromatherapy burner or diffuser and enjoy!

  • Benzoin
  • Cedarwood
  • Frankincense
  • Juniper
  • Patchouli
  • Pine
  • Rosemary
  • Sandalwood
  • Thyme
  • Vetiver
The woody aromas are grounding, balancing, and serene. They invite us to sit back, relax and contemplate.
Get comfy and take a few deep inhales of the soothing woody fragrances…ahhh! Notice how they help calm the mind, and encourage a deep meditative state.

Wishing you and your loved ones a very Happy Autumn!

Many blessings,

Tanja
