Reiki for Animals

Allow the ancient healing art of Reiki to support the health and wellbeing of your pet!

For many of us, we consider our four-legged companions (incl. all pets with less or more legs) family members. They shower us with unconditional love, make us laugh, give us a sense of purpose, and trust their lives to us. Their companionship fills our hearts with love, reduces our stress levels and benefits our overall health and wellbeing.

Now how can we give something back and care for our pet’s wellbeing and health besides taking them to the vet for regular check-ups, going on lovely walks together, providing them with a cozy pet bed, and healthy food?
These days it appears that more and more people adopt their pet from an animal shelter, sanctuaries or animal rescue (and I am so grateful to anyone who does). How can we help the (physical, and emotional) wellbeing of pets in the shelter and once we adopt them (besides the obvious mentioned above)?

Both enquiries lead to the exploration of the many health benefits of Reiki.

Reiki offers a non-invasive, gentle and loving way to maintain and restore your pet’s health and wellbeing and works well with any other veterinarian treatments, homeopathy, Chinese medicine, and is beneficial pre- and post surgeries. Studies have shown that the adoption rate in shelters that offer Reiki to the animals are increasing.

So what is Reiki?
Reiki (pronounced Ray-key)  is the Japanese word for Life Force Energy and is a system of natural healing involving the gentle laying on of hands, and it probably thousands of years old. It is believed that the technique was first used by Tibetan Buddhist monks and was re-discovered in the 1800’s by Mikao Usui. The Usui system of Reiki is a very simple but powerful healing technique that is easily given, and received, by anyone. No faith or belief is required to do Reiki as it bridges all cultures and religions.

Animals are naturally drawn to the energy and intuitively know when they have received what they needed and just walk away.

For healthy animals Reiki supports and maintains their health and wellbeing, enhances relaxation and an emotional sense of content and serenity.

For animals with physical or emotional conditions, Reiki is extremely beneficial to release trauma and anxiety, reduce pain, decrease stress, accelerate healing and boost the immune system.

For animals dying it offers relief from anxiety, stress, pain and fear, provides comfort, and helps the transition. Reiki may also offer compassion, support and consolation during the challenging time of grief for the dying animal’s family.

The benefits of Reiki are exceptional and versatile. Reiki supports the healing and balancing of any physical, mental, emotional and spiritual condition for all living beings.

May you and your pets live long, healthy and happy lives!
