Reiki (pronounced Ray-key)  is the Japanese word for Life Force Energy and is a system of natural healing involving the gentle laying on of hands, and it probably thousands of years old. It is believed that the technique was first used by Tibetan Buddhist monks and was re-discovered in the 1800’s by Mikao Usui. The Usui system of Reiki is a very simple but powerful healing technique that is easily given, and received, by anyone. No faith or belief is required to do Reiki as it bridges all cultures and religions.

Each person will take what they need from Reiki and will experience it in their own unique and different ways. It is the divine vibration of pure Life Force Energy that balances and harmonizes on all levels at once. When the body is out of balance there is a potential for illness the potential for healing itself. The cause of all illness can be found in the subtler domains of the emotional and mental levels. Because Reiki energy works on all levels, the cause is being treated as well as the resulting illness and its symptoms.

Reiki is a complete system of self-healing as well as healing for others.

Reiki can be used to…

  • Restore the natural balance and harmony throughout a person’s essential physical, emotional, mental and spiritual energies.
  • Comfort and help animals.
  • Reduce Stress.
  • Balance Chakras (Energy Centers)
  • Increase one’s intuition and spiritual abilities.
  • Help relieve pain.
  • Accelerate the body’s won ability to heal itself by providing balance and harmony on all levels.
  • Help restore health and growth of plants.
  • Enhance other healing and hands-on modalities (massage, reflexology, chiropractic, etc.) and creative expressions.

After you have received Reiki treatments you might be interested to acquire the skill yourself. Or maybe you are just being drawn to Reiki and are interested in how it is passed on from teacher to student.

The Reiki system, according to the legacy of Dr. Usui, consists of four degrees. The difference lies only in how the degrees are divided up.

The first degree is meant to reconnect us with our own physical form. Reiki I is whole and complete and upon completion are are fully certified to do Reiki on yourself, others, animals and plants for the rest of your life.

Second Degree Reiki takes us further into ourselves and gives us more powerful tools for self-discovery and integration. Reiki II intensives Reiki I and teaches the student to heal at a distance and to work with deep mental and emotional issues.

Reiki III teaches the student the master symbols connecting them to the divine spark or higher self, taking Reiki to the spiritual level.

In the Fourth Degree, students are taught how to initiative others into all the of the above degrees.

Energy Healing

In finding Reiki and being drawn to learning and applying the energy given, you are embracing that part of the divine which seeks to restore the harmony, the light, and the beauty which makes us what we truly are.
Yet just receiving Reiki can be a magical and amazing experience. Animals are naturally drawn to the energy and intuitively know when they have received what they needed and just walk away.
