To make traveling enjoyable, memorable and fun, your health and well-being are of the utmost importance.
As you travel in an enclosed space (e.g. airplane), visit new countries, eat exotic foods and encounter other cultures, you want your immune- and digestive system to keep you healthy.
Let Aromatherapy be your travel companion to boost your immune system, enhance your energy, and well-being.
Make your journey a fragrant, healthy and happy one!
1. “Happy Travel” antiseptic spray
Start to build your protective shield the moment you board the airplane. As people around you may cough and sneeze you can keep the bugs away with your “Happy Travel” spray. The essential oils are very powerful immune-stimulants and protect you against bacteria, viruses, and fungus.
Close your eyes, and spray this blend in front to your nose (away from your face) and take some deep breaths. You can also spray it onto a tissue and keep sniffing. In addition you can use this spray as an antiseptic to wipe down armrests, trays, etc.
To make it, fill a 2 oz. glass bottle 3/4 with filtered water and add 25 drops of essential oils. I recommend a blend of Tea-Tree, Eucalyptus, Peppermint, Mandarin, and Lavender. Shake well before each use.
2. Nourish your skin
Counter the drying effect of airplane air by bringing a 2 oz. pump bottle filled with sesame oil and 25 drops of lavender. Gently massage your face and the soles of feet. Your skin will feel amazing and the soothing properties of lavender will invite you to close your eyes and relax.
3. Energize upon arrival
Feel energized and refreshed in your new destination with a blend of anti jet-lag essential oils. Fill a 2 oz. bottle to 3/4 with filtered water; add 25 drops of essential oils. My recommendation: Lemongrass, Peppermint, Bergamot, and Lemon-Eucalyptus.
Shake well, close your eyes and spray close to your nose (pointing away from your face); now inhale deeply…Wow, a burst of fragrant energy! You can also spray on a tissue and continue to take deep breaths; each inhale aiding you in feeling refreshed, revitalized and ready for your new adventure.
4. Aromatize your luggage
To keep your clothes smelling fresh and bugs away, place tissues of lavender in your suitcase. Place about 3-5 drops of lavender oil on each tissue and layer them between your clothing. You will be delighted when you open your luggage and be greeted by the beautiful scent of lavender.
5. Treat your Sunburn
In case you enjoyed being outdoors a little too much and the sun burnt your skin, reach out for your essential oils.
Boil and cool water; add Lavender oil (for each tablespoon of water add 12 drops) and dab gently on to your sunburn. Now sit back, relax and allow your skin to heal.
Happy Travels!
Fondly,
Tanja
